Up And Down The Peak: From Hatton Road to Old Peak Road (8.5km)

Location: Wisdom Court Block B, 5 Hatton Road, Lung Fu Shan, Hong Kong
This is something of a leg burner and includes at its core the Around The Peak Loop previously described.  However this as a point to point run (or a circuit back to my home).  On the basis you will be staying elsewhere I am providing transport options on the basis you will go to the start and then get 'collected' from the finish.

I start this run at the intersection of Conduit Road and Hatton Road in Mid Levels.  You can get a taxi or number 13 bus here plus a number of minibuses.  Hatton Road starts a steep climb up what is known as The Morning Trail.  It is traffic free but has plenty of walkers.  You will notice that it is well signposted on the trail: route markers every couple of hundred metres to remind you how far it still is to The Peak winding up past Long Fu Shan Country Park.

Once at the top you can do as many laps of The Peak as you want to 'rest' your legs before exiting down Old Peak Road (by the Peak Galleria).  This is a steep section of road that has a couple of switchbacks in it.  Take it carefully: it is easy to slip even when it has not rained.  You will navigate down past Hillsborough Court and then down to Robinson Road where you can turn left and head on past the Bishop Lei Hotel and down Mosque Street to the escalator.
Distance: 8.5km (more with additional loops)

Type: Paved
Traffic: Only at the end coming down the last part of Old Peak Road to Robinson Road
Refreshments: Available at The Peak
Getting There: Bus number 13 from City Hall in Central terminates at Hatton Road / Kotewell Road.  The Number 23 bus and 56 minibus (plus others) stop outside The Bishop Lei Hotel on Robinson Rd.  It is easy to find a taxi.  In reverse, the Number 13 starts at the Hatton Road exit.
