Old Peak Road Double: A Night Run (12.5km)

Location: Hong Kong Park Sports Centre, 29 Cotton Tree Drive, Central, Hong Kong
This is not exactly a beginners run although it is not technically difficult.  The challenge is the first 2.5km rising from the Hong Kong Park Sports Centre (c55m) to the Peak Gallaria (c395m).  There is some further gentle climbing as you head around Lugard Rd and if done as a full there and back,  at the end of Harlech Rd turn on your tail and reverse the entire course.  This adds some great variation and also ensures you don't miss the great views over Central, Kowloon and the New Territories.

Given the need to Climb Old Peak Road it is worth doing this at the cooler times of day and for the views, worth doing on a clear evening.

The trickiest part is negotiating your way to Old Peak Road.  The general rule, is 'just keep going up' but follow the Tram up the stairs to Magazine Gap Road and then cross and keep going up to May Road and climb up to Old Peak Road at The Ladies Racket Club / Hillsborough Court.

Distance: 12.5km with 350m+ of elevation
Type: Out and back
Traffic: None
Refreshments: At The Peak and HK Park Sports Centre
Getting There: a number of minibuses and buses stop outside the HK Park Sports Centre.  Number 23 rolls through the Island (North Point through Causeway Bay, Wan Chai and Admiralty with plenty of stops)
