The Classic: Bowen Road (4km)

Location: Bowen Road, Hong Kong
Bowen Road, sometimes referred to as 'Boring Road' is the classic route on Hong Kong Island. A largely traffic free, 4km, almost flat stretch of tarmac running from Magazine Gap Road in the west to the Stubbs Road / Wong Nai Chung Gap / Tai Hang Road intersection at the east end it has some pretty spectacular views over Central, Wan Chai and Happy valley.  Throw in marker posts, street lights, toilets, drinking fountains and places to readily exit, Bowen Road makes for the type of route that any running visitor of any standard will want to do once.

Starting at either end, you can make it either a 4km point to point, 8km out and back route or any variation of that.  Transport is readily available at both ends be it in the form of mini buses, taxis or buses. Even better, is a shortish run down the hill at the Magazine Gap end to the Hong Kong Park Sports Centre which has lockers to leave your things (bring ID with you to get a key).  A longer run to Happy Valley Race Track will find free lockers in the middle of the park.
